Our History
Prism Pool & Backyard was established in 1982 when owner Pat Bright wanted to create a reliable pool and spa company that could handle all of the pool care needs of area pool owners. Several years later her husband Tom joined the company as co-owner. More than 34 years later, Prism Pool & Backyard continues to be the premier backyard living experts serving Knoxville and Farragut.

We take pride in our long-standing reputation throughout the community, and we know what it takes to maintain that reputation. Since the beginning, we’ve dedicated ourselves to providing superior customer service and knowledgeable expertise in all that we do.
The Prism Pool & Backyard team has extensive industry knowledge, with some employees having more than 30 years of experience. We also understand the importance of bettering ourselves and continuously staying up to date on industry trends and education.
Awards and Certifications
Six of our employees have earned their Certified Pool Operators certification through the National Swimming Pool Foundation. We are also active members of the United Aqua Group, a national member-owned group committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity within the pool and spa industry.
We believe it is imperative to give back to the local community in any capacity, and that’s why we are active members of the local Chamber of Commerce, as well donate a portion of our profits to local causes such as Rocky Hill Elementary School, Family Promise and Lakeshore Park among others.
Throughout the years, Prism Pool & Backyard has also earned a number of awards and distinctions, including the Knoxville News Sentinel Reader’s Choice Best Award in 2014, Knoxville News Sentinel Reader’s Favorite Pool Company in 2015 and 2016. We are also an American Express member favorite and an AQUA Magazine Top 100 retailer.
